About Brash Higgins

Brash Higgins Logo

Owned and operated by US native turned Australian, Brad “Brash Higgins” Hickey and Nicole Thorpe, Brash Higgins seeks to capture the essence of McLaren Vale’s sun and soil, the elusive characters of the fruit, and the whims of their own restless muse.  Their vineyard is ACO Certified Organic, with grapes that are little-known or outre varietals. For winemaking, Brash Higgins was the first winery in Australia to adopt amphoras as a core component of their winemaking process. Their 32 vessels have a 200 liter capacity, and are all made by Adelaide potter John Bennett using local clay, and lined with McLaren Vale beeswax. Brash Higgins is everything unique and intriguing about the McLaren Vale winegrowing region.
